Protection of monuments – seminar

On 24 March this year, a seminar will be held as part of the project: “The heritage of the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Sanctuary on the UNESCO trail”.

During the meeting, various issues related to the protection of historical monuments and local heritage will be discussed.

Firstly, Dr Krystyna Kozieł, art restorer, will discuss the progress of restoration work on the chapels at Our Lady’s Path in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, and M.Sc. arch. Piotr Kozieł will present the progress and advancement of the renovation and construction work on the chapels. Then, mgr inż. arch. Bartosz Żmuda – the representative of Creoproject, will discuss the subject of renovation of historical buildings on the example of the monastery buildings in ul. Bernardyńska.

Another speaker will be Anna Neuman from the Inveni company, who will present the project “The Heritage of the Sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska on the UNESCO Trail” as an opportunity for the local community. Halina Cimer, Malopolska Deputy Superintendent of Education, will present local heritage as a motivation for integration and development and the promotion of good practices.

Father Dr Cyprian Moryc, OFM – Provincial Conservator of Monuments, will discuss the painting decoration of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, not only in the context of art, but also of history. Rafał Gralewski will address the subject of the Mysteries of Calvary in the context of theatre history.

Finally, Father Tarsycjusz Bukowski OFM, the Sanctuary’s press officer, will present the function of music in the Church on the example of the Sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.
